The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great option if you’re looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is mid-range. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.
In tests, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, like cheaper models, it doesn’t use LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and numerous features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is setup it can begin automated cleaning with a single button click. You can opt for an overall clean that emphasizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal or two detailed maps of your home to ensure your entire home gets a proper look.
This vacuum works well both on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and clean big objects up. It doesn’t lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush, but iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that concentrates on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It’s the first Roomba that uses a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it hug the furniture and walls. It’s a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are standard, but we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with a superior filtration system that blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think this is a nice claim but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember your home’s layout and vSLAM technology to map the interior. It can then clean your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundaries so that the robot can determine what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are just as effective as those on higher-end models, and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
It’s only downside is the absence of a second brush for deeper cleaning. But that’s not a major issue for those who want to own one of the top robots available. The dust tank of the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three times, even when you’ve got a lot of dirt.
As for the mopping device, I was amazed with its ability to scrub the tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, generate little noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it comes across the wall or a piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and moves along.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it’s designed to run nearly completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app is good at notifying you when something is in need of attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.
You can also create or combine rooms to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. This feature is beneficial for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or if you need to regularly clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It can also clean up spills that are wet however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you can need. It has the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready to be reused. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best robot mop for tile floors known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The best robot vacuum and mop for laminate floors is still big. It has a height of more than two feet height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even when you’re not at home. It also has a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the most effective robot at best mopping and vacuuming robot. Its rotating mop pads remove tough stains and its motor produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding, and it also increases suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large rechargeable battery that can last up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of convenience features that you don’t often see on robots of this price. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, identify different flooring types, and it’s one of the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. But while these functions are useful however, they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury and could mean it’s somewhat more expensive than the average homeowner need.
Created to resemble a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that’s accented by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and transmit it back to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open the settings menu in which you can tweak how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your house. This allows the robot to vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors, and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice staining. The mops are also efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris that was found on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn’t as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor, or quaker oats on the carpet.
